Hi, I’m Aya.

The more I traveled the world, the more I fell in love with Hiroshima.

As a backpacker, I explored more than 30 countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, and South America while completing my university degree entirely online. Later, I spent three years living in Vietnam, helping establish a Japanese company’s local office and creating overseas training programs that connected people across cultures.

I’ve also traveled to 46 of Japan’s 47 prefectures.

Seeing so many places taught me something unexpected: every destination has famous attractions—but the memories that stay with us are always created by people.

When I returned to Hiroshima, I realized my hometown was no different. Beyond the places everyone knows are countless local stories, remarkable people, and authentic experiences that even many locals have never discovered.

That’s why I created Jumful.

My hope is simple: to help you experience the Hiroshima I came to appreciate only after seeing the world.
